Yinka Oyekan was with us in 2021 and is kindly returning to share his heart for the nation.
Yinka is the senior Pastor at The Gate Church in Reading, England, and former President of the UK Baptist Union. and spearheaded The Turning, the evangelistic street mission that began in 2016 and has now taken place in dozens of UK towns and cities, as well as further afield.
Yinka will be staying with us all week and has such a heart for the UK and Scotland and believes for and witnesses revival in the nation.
Yinka was born in Edinburgh of dual heritage. His Mum is Scottish, and his Dad was Nigerian. He is married to Fiona and they have three amazing sons
He was in Edinburgh studying accountancy when he was saved in 1984 through the ministry of Wester Hailes Baptist Church.
He is particularly excited by the third declaration of principle, which states that “It is the duty of every disciple to bear witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to take part in the evangelisation of the world.”
Yinka’s main passion throughout has been in Church Planting, as the building of a strong community of disciples is the ultimate goal of evangelisation.
Yinka has written several books/training manuals, some of which have been translated into French, German, and Portuguese.
