Yinka is senior Pastor at The Gate Church in Reading, England and President of the UK Baptist Union and also spearheaded The Turning, the evangelistic street mission which began in 2016 and has now taken place in dozens of UK towns and cities, as well as further afield.
Yinka will be staying with us all week and has such a heart for Scotland and believes for revival in the nation.
Yinka was born in Edinburgh of dual heritage. His Mum is Scottish, and his Dad was Nigerian. He is married to Fiona and they have three sons
He was in Edinburgh studying accountancy when he was saved in 1984 through the ministry of Wester Hailes Baptist Church.
He is particularly excited by the third declaration of principle. It makes clear that “It is the duty of every disciple to bear witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and to take part in the evangelisation of the world.”
Yinka’s main passion throughout has been in Church Planting as the building of a strong community of disciples is the ultimate goal of evangelisation.
Yinka has written several books/training manuals some which have been translated into French, German and Portuguese.
This is really good!…Introducing Yinka Oyekan and his thoughts on God, worship, evangelism, mission, The Gospel, good works, revival, Church empowerment, collaboration, our prophetic voice and government.
“….God wants to be known as Father and we’re supposed to be brothers and sisters”
Yinka is going to be such a blessing to us this summer and lighting the touchpaper of Unity and commanded blessing upon the nation.
